Aqua2go pro review
Running water is the ultimate luxury on any adventure trip. We have tried many different systems. First we tried US army 20 liter jerrycans: simple, very strong en reliable but far from practical. Expensive integrated water containers have the disadvantage of freezing in the winter rendering them absolutely useless. We tried water bags with & without built-in manual pumps, they seemed to be the perfect solution. But,…
A few months ago a friend of mine, who is a mountain bike fanatic travelling with a VW syncro van, showed off his solution. He uses the Aqua2go pro for showering, washing dishes when glamping and cleaning his muddy bike after his adventures. The Aqua2go Pro is basically a 20 liter jerrycan with a built-in pump, usb charger and flash light. Powered by 12 volt cigarette lighter socket or an integrated battery charged by 230 volt.
Now this seemed like the perfect system for my overland truck. So, I had to have one…
The Aqua2go Pro has been living in the back of my truck for the last 2 months. I used it for 2 weeks on an overland trip to Central Europe. It survived all the bouncing on hard core muddy off road trails we tried in Croatia. I took it to a few hunting trips, where it proofed to be the perfect solution to clean all the gear. The pressure 3-10 bar is perfect for cleaning your dirty boots before you get in to your car or cleaning knives and bloody hands after a successful hunt. It comes with a 6 meter long hose and different attachments. The pressure of the spray gun is very strong and you really need to attach the shower head for a softer spray when showering. A brush head is also included, but I have not used it yet.
Last summer, we were able to shower on deserted beaches after a swim in the Adriatic sea. Take the hose, push the “on” button on the Aqua2go pro and enjoy. That’s real luxury!
The pump is detachable and that’s a big advantage. You now have a device to pump water from a well. You’ll need an extra hose but as it’s standard size gardening hose you can buy this everywhere.
The battery pack is detachable and comes with a few extras. It can be used to charge your phone via the usb port and it’s also a flashlight. Battery life is very good, on average I had to recharge it 1 or 2 times a week. Off course it can be permanently powered by 12 volt.
The Aqua2go pro lives permanently in the back of my truck and is a good solution for anybody who wants the luxury of pressurised water on the road.
